The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasizes the need to comprehensively promote rural revitalization, prioritize the development of agriculture and rural areas, consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation, accelerate the construction of a strong agricultural country, and solidly promote the revitalization of rural industries, talents, culture, ecology, and organizations. Rural revitalization has entered a stage of comprehensive and systematic promotion.
At present, China's insurance market not only plays the basic functions of risk diversification and loss compensation, but also gradually extends to comprehensive functions such as disaster prevention, loss prevention, fund financing, guarantee, credit enhancement, and social governance. It ensures that the insurance industry can serve the rural revitalization strategy more comprehensively. Recently, we visited multiple insurance companies within Jiangsu province and found that rural inclusive insurance, including agricultural insurance, medical insurance, pension insurance, liability insurance, guarantee insurance and so on, can comprehensively support the overall goal of rural revitalization in Jiangsu province. Specifically, they are prosperous industry, livable ecology, civilized rural culture, effective governance, and wealthy life. To achieve the goal, we can follow five major paths, which are controlling agricultural production risks, improving farmers' living security, alleviating rural industrial financing constraints, serving rural green development, and enhancing rural governance level. In this way, we can gradually explore a rural revitalization path with Jiangsu characteristics and benchmark level.
