Abstract: Although regional coordination and integration is a new concept in the field of regional coordinated development in the new era, it is not only the practical and theoretical inheritance of the continuous exploration of China's regional development issues by successive central leadership collectives since the founding of the People's Republic of China, but also the highly condensed, sublimated, and sedimented experience in Xi Jinping's governance thought. From a theoretical perspective, regional coordination and integration refers to the process of energy exchange between the system far from equilibrium and the outside world, achieving mutual cooperation, collaboration, and resonance. Thus, it tends towards equilibrium and order in time, space, and function. It has openness, symbiosis, orderliness, and dynamism. In the context of regional economic development in our country, it requires the resolution of three types of contradictions, which are tradition and modernity, region and the whole, as well as development and protection, in order to break the pattern of local protection and administrative division, and promote the transformation from regional division to coordinated integration. The policy implication lies in the organic combination of proactive government governance and efficient market regulation. On the one hand, it breaks down administrative barriers across administrative regions to promote government coordination. On the other hand, it eliminates market segmentation to promote market integration, ultimately achieving rational regional economic layout and high-quality development.
