The 14th Party Congress of Jiangsu Province took accelerate the realization of self-reliance in the sci-tech development, and make greater efforts to build an independent and controllable modern industrial system as the top priority in the next five years. This is a major measure for Jiangsu to implement the new development concept, promote high-quality development, serve the new development pattern, and create a new situation in modernization.
Since the Fourth Plenary Session of the 13th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee proposed building an independent and controllable advanced manufacturing system in 2018, Jiangsu has done a lot of effective work in stabilizing the industrial chain and supply chain, strengthening basic scientific research, and improving the driving force of clusters.
This paper believes that in the new stage of building an independent and controllable modern industrial system with greater efforts, the following four points should be done well, and specific practical paths are proposed respectively:
1. Regard talents as the first resource for industrial development.
2. Take the digital economy as the key increment of transformation and development.
3. Expand domestic demand as an important driving force to enhance industrial competitiveness.
4. Coordinate and promote the construction of demonstration areas for high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.
