As an important part of China's economy and society, the modern insurance service industry is the stabilizer and booster of economic and social development. How to answer the question of the era of helping to realize carbon peaking and carbon neutrality is the historical responsibility of the insurance industry. This paper first analyzes the current situation and challenges of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals of insurance services, and points out that there are few supportive policies in the field of green insurance, the coordination mechanism between the insurance industry and other departments is imperfect, and the insurance products and services are not expanded. Then, it analyzes the basic approach of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals of the insurance industry: 1. Give full play to the unique advantages of insurance capital and inject capital power into the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. 2. Give full play to the protection function of science and technology insurance and enable scientific and technological innovation for the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. 3. Give play to the role of insurance in increasing credit and compensating losses, and escort the low-carbon transformation for the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. 4.
