The report of the 20th National Congress of CPC deeply and systematically explained Chinese path to modernization. As the basic content and important goal of Chinese path to modernization, economic modernization is also the endogenous driving force to realize Chinese path to modernization, which determines other aspects of Chinese path to modernization.
This paper first reviews the achievements and shortcomings of China's economic construction and the domestic and international economic situation it faces in the report of the 20th National Congress of CPC, which constitutes the realistic basis for promoting the modernization of Chines economy in the new era. It includes three aspects: (1) China's economy has entered a new stage of development; (2) major contradictions in China's society have changed; (3) opportunities and challenges of the tech revolution and economic globalization. Then, the article interprets the five characteristics of the modernization of the Chinese economy:
(1) Improve productivity and innovation capabilities
(2) Promote common prosperity in high-quality development
(3) Vigorously develop advanced culture and promote the all-round development of people
(4) Give full play to the role of human initiative and follow the concept of sustainable development
(5) Promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind
