The report of the 20th National Congress of CPC points out that China is advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. As the basic content and important goal of Chinese path to modernization, promoting economic modernization is the endogenous driving force to achieve Chinese path to modernization.
This paper first reviews the discussion on the realistic basis of promoting economic modernization in the new era in the report of the 20th National Congress of CPC, and points out that economic modernization is an evolving process. We should firmly grasp the solution to the unbalanced and inadequate development problems, and focus on breaking the bottleneck of technological innovation, improving the reliability and safety of the industrial and supply chain, preventing financial risks, and narrowing the gap between urban and rural regional development and income distribution. Then it analyzes the short-term, medium-term and long-term strategic steps to promote economic modernization in the new era. Finally, according to the deployment of the report of the 20th National Congress of CPC, the specific contents of promoting economic modernization in the new era are summarized: improve productivity and innovation capacity; promote common prosperity in high-quality development; vigorously develop advanced culture and promote the all-round development of human beings; hive full play to people initiative and take the road of sustainable development; promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
