This paper uses the A-F factor method to measure the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) of the elderly. In addition to the common dimensions of poverty such as consumption, income, and health, combining with the new characteristics of the contemporary lifestyle, it innovatively adds two dimensions of information technology and finance.
Firstly, it analyzes the four dimensions that contribute the most to the multidimensional poverty of the elderly, namely, information technology, finance, consumption, and education. Then, it analyzes the heterogeneity of multidimensional poverty of the elderly in China from five perspectives: region, urban and rural areas, gender, age and pension category. Finally, according to the previous analysis, the corresponding policy recommendations are put forward.
