Abstract: A comprehensive and accurate understanding of the national systematic and multi-level development strategy in the new era is the basis for the accurate positioning of regional development. The national development strategy in the new era is mainly embodied in the three zones and one belt and one basin at the spatial level. Promoting the Belt and Road initiative is an important part of achieving a comprehensive and high-level open development strategy. Promoting the development of the Belt and Road in Jiangsu is not only a conscious choice of high-quality open development, but also an organic component of achieving national strategic deployment. The development achievements and current situation of the Belt and Road in Jiangsu are mainly reflected in five aspects and seven characteristics. Continuous promotion faces both opportunities and challenges. Further development is mainly in three aspects: first, focus on improving the national strategy of Jiangsu Province; Second, focus on deepening and optimizing the construction of first-class business environment; Third, strive to promote a higher level of institutional opening up.
