Jiangsu has a good manufacturing foundation, but it also has a relatively large proportion of traditional industries. Therefore, its task of digital transformation is heavy and difficult, which has similarities with Northeast China. So, it's of significant practical significance for Jiangsu to accelerate the development of new quality productivity, which is an effective way to promote the high-quality development of Jiangsu's manufacturing industries and achieve the goal of becoming a strong manufacturing province.
At present, the new industrialization in Jiangsu Province has entered a new stage of forming new quality productivity and moving towards high-quality development. Secretary Xin Changxing recently made a comprehensive deployment for Jiangsu to promote new industrialization, emphasizing the three major tasks of revitalizing traditional industries, strengthening emerging industries, and cultivating future industries. The three major industries of emerging industries, future industries, and advanced manufacturing provide the foundation and support for the development of new quality productivity, and conversely, the new quality productivity leads and drives the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.
The way to complete the three major tasks is to promote two structural optimizations, which are the industrial structure and the spatial structure. The former one decomposes work tasks into specific industry segments, while the latter one implements work tasks into specific spatial locations.
