The integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta has already reached a critical stage. We need to summarize the achievements and experiences of the past five years, sort out the new challenges and problems discovered in the development process, and benchmark the four overall arrangements, so as to clarify the new direction and mission of the Yangtze River Delta in the future.
The two key words for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta are high-quality and integration. The Shanghai symposium called for promoting the four overall arrangements, which not only demonstrates the dialectical unity of multiple aspects of high-quality development, but also indicates that the integration of the Yangtze River Delta still needs to be synchronized in multiple fields.
At present, the difficulty of coordinating the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta lies in the industrial and technology innovation fields, while the integration of transportation, environmental protection and other fields needs to move towards a higher level. In areas where the integration of transportation, land, and environmental protection has made significant progress, it is necessary to further strengthen the standard convergence and connection.
The Yangtze River Delta should be a pilot and demonstration zone for building a unified national market, and explore the way for the whole country in addressing the problems encountered in the reform and opening-up. The Shanghai symposium pointed out that the leading role of the Yangtze River Delta in establishing a unified national market still needs to be further developed, which is also the deep-seated requirement for the integration of the Yangtze River Delta. Therefore, we should take a series of actions for the construction of a unified national market being deployed by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, and strengthen the legal system supply of the market-oriented mechanism. Governments at all levels should be good protectors and promoters of market mechanism.
