Abstract: Regional market integration is an important means and tool for promoting the construction of a unified national market and is an important approach to accelerating market-oriented reforms in transitional economies. Based on the theory of geographical nature, the theoretical mechanism for promoting the construction of a unified national market through regional market integration is analyzed from a spatial perspective, which has important practical significance. Currently, there are many obstacles to the construction of a unified national market, such as local protectionism and market segmentation, inadequate reform of the urban-rural dual system, virtualization of regional cooperation mechanisms, and insufficient internal opening up in the practice of regional market integration. The experiences of the European Community (EU), the United States, Russia, and others have shown that the key to promoting the construction of a unified national market through regional market integration lies in promoting the free flow of inter-regional commodity factors and resources, as well as building a comprehensive transportation infrastructure. In terms of specific strategies and paths, the construction of a unified national market should be promoted step by step, industry by industry and project by project, through the polarization, diffusion, and connectivity of regional market integration.
