Abstract: The construction of a unified national market is an important support for promoting the modernization of the industrial chain. Promoting the modernization of the industrial chain from the perspective of building a unified national market not only has a rigorous theoretical logic, but also has policy practical significance and specific operability. The slow development of factor markets, insufficient factor mobility, and market administrative monopolies and local protectionism in some places are the main obstacles and pain points in the construction of a unified national market in China, which hinders the achievement of the goal of modernizing the industrial chain. Relevant international experiences can be drawn upon to support the development of the industrial chain modernization through the construction of a unified national market. Strengthening the security and resilience of the industrial chain, and deep integration of the industrial chain with other factor chains, are the key directions that urgently need to be addressed in China's current push to promote the modernization of the industrial chain through market-oriented means.
