The emergence of ChatGPT has brought the development of artificial intelligence to a new stage and attracted a lot of attention. This article starts by reviewing the development process of ChatGPT, which, as a product of OpenAI, has undergone five years of preparation and testing. Its success has ignited a new round of AI arms race, with multiple companies actively researching and developing similar models. Next, the authors introduce three practical personal use cases to showcase the broad application scenarios of ChatGPT. They analyze the existing problems of ChatGPT and explore the technical improvement paths that could lead to its future growth. However, they also highlight the risks associated with AIGC, including technical restrictions, privacy disclosure, information forgery, and ethical moral hazard. Additionally, they examine the employment substitution and social polarization risks that AI may bring to human society. The article concludes that artificial intelligence presents both an opportunity and a challenge. While it may substitute for jobs that require high repeatability and insufficient creativity, it will also stimulate new business formats and job demands. Therefore, individuals should embrace the future and continuously improve their personal skills and creativity to cope with constantly changing job demands. In this way, artificial intelligence can be used as a tool to enhance human potential and productivity, rather than posing a risk to society.
