Abstract: The Yangtze River serves as the golden waterway for China's economic development. The 11 provinces and municipalities covered by the Yangtze River Economic Belt account for approximately 1/5 of the country's total land area, and their combined population and regional GDP exceed 40% of the national total. General Secretary Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and has presided over several symposiums and delivered important speeches, providing fundamental guidance for promoting high-quality development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. In November 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over the forum on comprehensively promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, emphasizing that we should make the Yangtze River Economic Belt the main battlefield for China's ecological and green development, the main artery for smoothing domestic and international dual circulation, and the main force leading high-quality economic development. This important discourse not only highlights the strategic importance of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in the new development pattern but also further points out the direction for comprehensively promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
