Abstract: The high-level socialist market economic system is mainly reflected in the specific institutional framework of the ownership foundations of 'two unswervingly' + a unified national market + a promising government + a new distribution mechanism + high-level opening-up. Continuously reforming and improving the framework and connotation of this system is the main task of economic transformation in the process of realizing Chinese-style modernization. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, some obvious structural and institutional problems have emerged in China's economic operation, such as vague definition of the field of market-oriented reform, market segmentation, and asymmetrical opening up to the outside world. In the process of building a high-level socialist market economic system in the future, we must face the challenges to the Chinese economy from major domestic and foreign factors, such as the restructuring of the global industrial chain, the formation of a dominant domestic market, the transformation of industrial policies, and the adjustment of income distribution, and make full preparations in terms of strategy and policy.
