General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over the first meeting of the Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs (CCFEA) under the 20th CPC Central Committee, emphasizing that we must make good use of the advantages of the ultra-large-scale market and organically combine the strategy of expanding domestic demand with the strategy of innovation-driven development. The strategy of expanding domestic demand is to enhance the development momentum from the perspective of market demand scale, while the innovation driven development strategy is to improve the development momentum and quality from the perspective of optimizing supply structure, organically combining the two strategies. On the one hand, it is necessary to use the aggregation and attraction of the market to drive scientific and technological innovation and accelerate the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements; On the other hand, it is necessary to improve productivity, reduce costs, expand market demand, improve product quality, and optimize supply structure through technological innovation, in order to promote economic growth and high-quality development through technological revolution. This means implementing an innovation driven development strategy based on expanding domestic demand.
In this context, this article analyzes why the implementation of innovation driven development strategy needs to expand domestic demand, and why innovation driven development is beneficial for implementing the strategy of expanding domestic demand. And from two aspects: implementing an innovation driven development strategy based on domestic demand in an open environment and the policy orientation of implementing an innovation driven development strategy based on domestic demand, this article deeply explores what should we do.
