From the practice in the eastern coastal areas, especially in manufacturing provinces such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu, the phenomenon of manufacturing enterprises lacking young and middle-aged skilled workers is widely spreading. Overall, the phenomenon of difficult employment in industrial enterprises belongs to a structural contradiction. Cracking the employment difficulties of industrial enterprises requires more cross departmental cooperation and the introduction of systematic solutions at the national level. In this survey, we focused on the issue of the lack of highly skilled young and middle-aged skilled workers in manufacturing enterprises. The summary of the survey results is as follows:
1、 Reasons for the Shortage of High Skilled Workers in Industrial Enterprises
(1) The concept of employment cannot keep up with the development of the times, leading to many young college students being unwilling to engage in technical jobs in industrial enterprises
(2) The development of vocational education lacks a corresponding supporting system, and many parents dare not let their children engage in technical jobs within industrial enterprises
(3) The narrow certification channels for skilled workers have led to many self-taught technical workers being unable to engage in high-skilled technical jobs in industrial enterprises due to the lack of corresponding certificates
(4) A considerable number of engineering vocational colleges lack teachers with strong hands-on skills and competence in technical skills education and teaching, resulting in many graduates of vocational colleges not being able to master the basic skills of technical work
(5) The lack of a platform for the continued development of skilled workers in industrial enterprises has led to many young skilled workers not being adept at achieving success based on their positions
2、 Suggestions for Tackling the Shortage of High Skilled Workers in Industrial Enterprises
(1) Strengthen the understanding of respecting technical labor through multiple channels, and promote universities to focus on helping students change their career choices
(2) Accelerate the establishment of a supporting system for vocational skills education
(3) Efforts to increase training channels and expand the grading and certification system
(4) Expand the channels for introducing teachers in vocational colleges
(5) By enhancing the market position of technicians, promoting young technicians to actively seek career development paths
