After three consecutive high operating years, the main economic indicators of Suzhou in the first quarter of this year were not ideal. Similarly, in the face of the challenge of declining external demand, Shanghai and Shenzhen have a significantly higher sensitivity in capturing new trends than Suzhou. Therefore, Suzhou must vigorously seize the opportunity to layout new industries in order to compete on new tracks and continue to compete with those advanced cities in the future.
Based on the relevant research conducted by the Suzhou Research Center of the Yangtze IDEI in the past two years, this article believes that Suzhou needs to analyze the changes in the international and domestic environment, consider the actual development of Suzhou's industry, liberate the mind, and start work from the institutional mechanism of industrial cultivation. Relevant departments should conduct special investigations and research in accordance with new circumstances to deeply reflect on how Suzhou undergoes industrial transformation and new industrial layout under the new pattern of dual circulation. This article proposes the following four suggestions:
1. Strengthen confidence and continue to increase efforts to promote the four leading industries in Suzhou
2. Maintain strength, understand the laws of cultivating new industries, and rely on market mechanisms to discover and cultivate emerging industries
3. Strengthening the foundation, vigorously promoting the development of productive service industries, and supporting the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry
4. Liberate the mind, rely on technology and digitization to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries
