Abstract: The 2026 Government Work Report proposes the development of emerging pillar industries such as integrated circuits and the low-altitude economy. China’s industrial development is entering a critical phase in which breakthroughs in new technologies are driving rapid transformations in industrial structure and supporting capabilities. Enterprises that have long cultivated niche markets and established a firm foothold in critical segments of the industrial chain are an indispensable organizational foundation for building emerging pillar industries. Specialized and sophisticated enterprises can support the formation of key technological nodes in emerging pillar industries, promote high-level specialized division of labor within these industries, enhance their stable supply capacity, and facilitate the continuous diffusion of innovation. To better leverage the role of specialized and sophisticated enterprises in building emerging pillar industries, the key lies in integrating enterprise growth into the construction of a modern industrial system and the overall upgrading of industrial chains. Efforts should focus on the key areas and critical links of emerging pillar industries, enhancing these enterprises' ability to embed themselves within collaborative industrial chain systems. By opening up application scenarios, standardizing market order, and improving the supply of production factors, we can strengthen enterprises' confidence in stable development.
