The book was published by the People’s Publishing House on October 1, 2008. The book primarily proposes that the whole province should conscientiously study Kunshan’s experience based on the real-life situations and persevere in emancipating the mind, keeping up with current times, moving ahead determinedly, being bold in innovations, seeking truth from facts and doing solid work to forget a better future for Jiangsu Province.
Kunshan has now entered a new development stage, and is taking the lead in the fundamental realization of modernization after first building a moderately well-off society. We sincerely hope that Kunshan will establish higher goals, will not be complacent, will not stall in any efforts, will make solid progress towards scientific development, and will continue to be at the forefront of reform and opening up and scientific development. In development practice, it should enhance thorough development by paying more attention to placing people as the center; improve coordinated development by focusing on overall planning and all-round consideration, and improve sustainable development by focusing more on ecological civilization construction. Aside from this, it should encourage socialist economic, political, cultural, social, and ecological civilization construction in a coordinated way while striving to build Kunshan into the model area of China, with a developed economy, prosperous culture, harmonious society, wealthy population, and attractive environment.
Kunshan’s development process and experience are of great importance to the whole province, which should take new steps in emancipating the mind, make fresh breakthroughs in adhering to reform and opening up, drive new progress in promoting scientific development and produce new results to improve social harmony.
