Abstract: China's industrialization process has been a long and arduous endeavor and exploration guided by Marxist theory and tailored to the country's specific conditions. It has broadly progressed through four stages: the period of heavy industry prioritization under the planned economy; the initial phase of economic recovery and structural adjustment following reform and opening-up; the deepening of market-oriented reforms and full integration into globalization; and the transition of China's economy from a stage of high-speed growth to a stage of high-quality development. While China's path of industrialization adheres to universal laws—such as the driving forces of technological revolution, the sequence of industrial structure evolution, the joint pull of industrialization and urbanization on labor transfer and mobility, and the transition of factor dependence from capital accumulation to market expansion—it also exhibits distinct characteristics in terms of institutional frameworks, development models, choices regarding globalization pathways, social and resource constraints, and coordinated regional development. The core tenets of the new industrialization path and theoretical innovation in industrial economics include: strengthening the Party's comprehensive leadership over economic work; anchoring the core objective of building a modern industrial system with advanced manufacturing as its backbone; fully, accurately, and comprehensively implementing the new development philosophy in advancing the new industrialization process; establishing a new development paradigm as the fundamental pathway for promoting new industrialization and industrial development; grasping the key variables for developing new-quality productive forces; and adhering to the fundamental principle of coordinating development and security.
