At a science and education work symposium held in August 1977, Deng Xiaoping decided to resume the college entrance exam of that year. This move reversed the atmosphere of not paying attention to knowledge that was poisoning the minds of the Chinese people and promoted the subsequent reform and opening up, causing tremendous changes to China’s social and economic development. The year of 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the resumption of the college entrance examination. This week, Professor Liu Zhibiao, Dean of Yangtze IDEI, asked relevant experts to brainstorm one sentence to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the resumption of the college entrance examination, and exchange their opinions on the topic “Prospects of China’s Further Reform and Opening up”.
