With the continuous development of Internet platform enterprises led by Alibaba in China, various concerns are reflected in public opinion. For example, Alibaba recently proposed to build a “cashless city” and further step into the fields of communication, sharing, insurance and healthcare, etc., drawing a grand strategic blueprint of Alibaba. The Internet platform is an industry with standard two-sided market characteristics and its own unique industrial characteristics. The public is concerned that it will continue to squeeze the offline real economy, help build monopoly powers in the two-sided market, and use its big data advantages to threaten user's privacy security. This week, Professor Liu Zhibiao, Dean of Yangtze IDEI, held discussions with relevant experts and scholars on the topic “Expansion of Internet Platform Enterprises: Cheers or Worries”.
