Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the CPC Central Committee has been unswervingly pushing forward the supply-side structural reforms. Under its guidance, the supply-side structural reforms, with the five major tasks of cutting overcapacity, destocking, deleveraging, reducing corporate costs and addressing weak spots, have yielded positive results: In-depth progress has been made in industrial structure adjustment; new driving forces of economic growth have gradually taken shape; the macroeconomy have maintained steady growth; and the foundation for long-term growth of China’s economy has been further strengthened. Meanwhile, however, the supply-side structural reform remains a difficult task, and attention should be paid to the existing problems of inconsistencies in the reforms by all sectors of society. With the further advancement of supply-side structural reforms, the problems of reduced output and rising prices have gradually emerged, the impact of which on China’s economic and social development needs further study.
