This year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi's proposal to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative, and also the second year that the State Council issued the document to support Yunnan to accelerate the construction of radiation center for South Asia and Southeast Asia. This article researches related issues and proposes the following suggestions.
1. We should adhere to our big-picture perspective and integration strategy, focus on accelerating the construction of radiation center for South Asia and Southeast Asia, and vigorously promote the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
2. We should adhere to various modes of connectivity working together, and continue to promote the new land-sea channel and multimodal transportation. Specifically, we need to take the operation of the China-Laos Railway as an important opportunity to improve the level of economic opening-up, pay attention to the industrial cultivation and park construction, and continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries.
3. We should further deepen the infrastructure connectivity and cooperation on production capacity with neighboring countries. Specifically, we need to build a regional comprehensive infrastructure hub, accelerate the construction of regional international energy center, and collaborate to build the regional cross-border logistic center as well as Sino-foreign industrial parks.
4. We should deepen the border trade cooperation with neighboring countries, through orderly developing the border trade and continuously improving its facilitation level.
5. We should further deepen the financial cooperation with neighboring countries, through innovating the RMB cross-border business and increasing the financial support for major projects.
6. We should vigorously carry out cooperation in education, technology, culture and medical care, and further deepen the cultural exchanges and communication with neighboring countries.
