With the deterioration of international economic environment and the continuous sluggishness of external market demand, Jiangsu’s county economy urgently needs to develop modern service industry and realize the transformation from taking export-oriented economy as the main form to attaching equal importance to export-oriented economy and domestically-oriented economy. There are three feasible paths for Jiangsu’s county economy to develop modern service industry. The first is to develop producer services around the existing manufacturing industrial agglomerations, including cultivating producer services based on professional market and extending producer services around leading enterprises. The second is to improve the link of agricultural service in the value chain of modern agriculture to promote the development of modern agriculture. The third is to focus on the development of living services and public services with the goal of building livable cities and towns.
