Jiangsu Province is ahead of other areas in terms of overall economic development, but there are significant disparities in the development levels of different areas within the provinces. Especially in the cities of northern and southern Jiangsu, there are obvious disparities between them in terms of infrastructure construction and urban and rural development. During the Two Sessions in 2018, the regional disparities of high-speed railway construction and rural vitalization in China became a hot topic nationwide. Professor Liu Zhibiao, Dean of Yangtze IDEI, recently held discussions with relevant experts and scholars on the topic “High-speed Railway Construction and Rural Vitalization in Jiangsu Province”. They exchanged their ideas on the existing problems and countermeasures of high-speed railway construction, and the objectives of rural vitalization in Jiangsu Province.
