On July 31, 2018, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting to analyze and study the current economic situation and deploy the economic work in the second half of the year. With changes in what was a generally stable economic performance in China, and major changes in external environment, we are confronted with new problems and challenges. In face of these obstacles, the concept of “Six Stabilities” was first proposed at the Political Bureau meeting, which means to stabilize employment, finance, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment, and expectations. Professor Liu Zhibiao, Dean of Yangtze IDEI, held professional and in-depth discussions with relevant experts and scholars on the relationships among the “Six Stabilities”, and proposed several policy suggestions on how to achieve the goals of “Six Stabilities”.
