Release time:2018-10-15Author: Yangtze idei

The economic and trade relations between China and the US, as the largest developing country and largest developed country in the world respectively, have great impact on balancing and reconstructing the global economic and trade pattern. Since President Trump took office, he has incorporated “narrowing trade deficit” as an important part in America’s economic and trade policies by following the “America First” principle. Besides, the US has repeatedly taken “protectionist” measures against its surplus country - China, which has brought many uncertainties to the China-US economic and trade cooperation relations and the global value chain specialization system. Therefore, Professor Liu Zhibiao, Dean of Yangtze IDEI, held professional and in-depth discussions with relevant experts and scholars on the significant impact of the China-US trade war on the current global value chain specialization network, and proposed several policy suggestions on how to cope with such impact.
