In the Report on the Work of Government 2019, for the first time, it is explicitly stated that “we will elevate the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta to the status of national strategy and design and implement an overall development plan”. This means that in addition to the integrated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the integration of the Yangtze River Delta has been incorporated into the national strategies of economic development.
