General Secretary Xi Jinping has pointed out on many occasions that the Yangtze River has a unique ecosystem and is an important ecological treasure-house in China. We should give absolute priority to restoring the Yangtze River’s ecological environment, and facilitate the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt by promoting well-coordinated environmental conservation and avoiding excessive development. As the focus point of promoting China’s high-quality economic development and the new engine of overall green development, how should the Yangtze River Economic Belt achieve comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of economy and ecological environment? In this regard, Liu Zhibiao, Dean of Yangtze IDEI, held online discussions with experts, scholars and entrepreneurs on issues such as the transformation of new and old industries and relocation of polluting industries, in order to explore a path of “focusing on ecological conservation and pursuing green development” for the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
