At the recent meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, it was pointed out that we should further exploit the potential of domestic demand, expand final demands, effectively stimulate the rural markets and expand consumption through reforms. These are all prerequisites for improving China’s domestic economic level. In the current context of China-US economic and trade friction, we should not only focus on the outside world, but also display our international appeal as a super-scale economy and constantly highlight the tenacity, importance and autonomy of China’s economic development as a great power. In this aspect, Professor Liu Zhibiao, Dean of Yangtze IDEI, Nanjing University, held in-depth discussions with experts and scholars on the connotative features and construction of a super-scale economy.
