From November 5th to 10th, the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai. This year's CIIE has a larger scale, wider scope and higher quality than the previous one, and it has achieved greater achievements. In the past 40 years, from importing to going global, from joining the World Trade Organization to launching the Belt and Road Initiative, China has opened wider and wider to the outside world. In the future, China's economy will achieve high-quality development after opening wider. The holding of the CIIE is a major decision made by the Chinese government to promote a new round of high-level opening-up. It is China's initiative to open its market to the world, starting a new era of China's opening-up and cooperation with other countries. Specifically, how will CIIE promote China to open wider to the outside world? The Yangtze River Industrial Economic Research Institute of Nanjing University organized experts, scholars and entrepreneurs to conduct seminars for this.Scholars and entrepreneurs believe that China’s new round of opening-up trend is to further reduce and eliminate tariffs and non-tariff barriers, and to open up in all directions, that is, almost "full coverage" of space and industries, especially technological innovation cooperation in high-end manufacturing and high-end services. In the new round of opening-up, opening up internally will improve the quality of opening up externally. The two markets at home and abroad will be further integrated to promote high-quality development through competition. To achieve higher-quality opening-up, it is necessary to create a market-oriented, legalized, and internationalized business environment, make “going out” and “bringing in” complement each other, attach importance to the protection of intellectual property rights, and increase investment in human capital.
