At present, a series of theoretical and practical issues concerning the Yangtze River urban agglomeration are in front of us, which urgently need to be discussed and unified. Firstly, in order to focus on solving the difficulty of cross-river integration, it is recommended to make necessary zoning adjustments for the 8 cities along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province; secondly, in order to vigorously promote the construction of the rapid transportation network, it is recommended to attach great importance to the construction of high-speed railway ring and cross-river passages, and organize capable forces to speed up the advancement; thirdly, the Yangtze River urban agglomeration must work hard at the center, thus it is recommended to focus more on cross-river integration in the central area of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration to accelerate the construction of Wuxi-Changzhou-Taizhou metropolitan area with strong radiation; fourthly, we should focus on Taizhou, a hub of north-south transmission in the central part of the urban agglomeration, thus it is recommended that Taizhou magnify the advantages of cross-river integration, optimize infrastructure conditions, optimize characteristic modern industries, gather innovative high-quality resources, and highlight the ecological characteristics of water towns.
