In recent years, the proportion of China's service industry in the national economy has increased rapidly. In 2013, the proportion of added value of China's service industry exceeded that of the second industry for the first time, and became the largest industry. In 2015, the proportion of added value of service industry accounted for more than 50% for the first time, and it reached 51.6% in 2016. The rapid growth of service industry is not only shown in the proportion of added value, but also in employment, investment, contribution to GDP growth and the proportion of FDI. However, before the international financial crisis in 2008, the proportion of various indicators of China's service industry in the national economy has been relatively stable. So, what is the reason for the rapid growth of the service industry in recent years? The author believes that the rapid growth of the added value of service industry in recent years is related to the development of service industry itself and the slowdown of China’s industrial growth. It is the result of the joint action of these two aspects. Only one aspect cannot fully explain the phenomenon of rapid growth of service industry in recent years.
