The Yangtze River Industrial Economic Think Tank Offline Seminar (2ed session) was successfully held on August 27, 2017 at the Suzhou Jinke Hotel. This issue shows the keynote speech of Associate Professor Liu Genrong of Xiamen University.The sharing economy, as a new driving force for China’s economic development, is worth studying, and it is also a direction for China’s economic development in the future.The sharing economy has a trend of rapid growth. Many companies have become unicorns in the sharing economy, and large-scale mergers have appeared in some emerging fields.The sharing economy is different from the traditional leasing business. Its rapid development is based on information technology, trust foundation, material foundation, green development concept and people’s pursuit of maximizing benefits. Its essence is the reform of the property rights system brought about by technological innovation.The current sharing economy is facing border issues, legal dilemmas, government control issues, and system supply issues.The sharing economy is developing rapidly in the service sector, and there is a trend of transmission from the tertiary industry to the primary and secondary industries.
