The construction of the free trade zone and the Belt and Road Initiative are national development strategies put forward under the conditions of socialism with Chinese characteristics entering a new era and taking into account both domestic and international dynamics. They have and will continue to play an important role in building China’s modernized economic system and an open economy in the world.The Belt and Road Initiative is a new platform for international cooperation and a new driving force for common development. It is both a need for China's deep integration into the world economy and a reflection of China's international responsibilities. The Belt and Road Initiative has achieved remarkable success in economic and trade cooperation with countries along the routes. The construction of free trade zone is a major move made by the Central Committee and the State Council to promote the Belt and Road Initiative. It’s also a major move to deepen reform in an all-round way, expand the opening-up and regional development, and further promote the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative in the new situation.The construction of free trade zone will further improve its degrees of opening-up and freedom, and play an important role to the country’s economic development, especially the export-oriented economy. The Report of the 19th CPC National Congress proposed that we should give greater reform autonomy to free trade zone and explore the construction of free trade zone. This is another new measure for China to further deepen the reform and develop a higher-level open economy on the basis of the establishment of free trade zone, and is also another new requirement for the institutional innovation of the free trade zone, which will surely produce greater value and significance for the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
