The construction of the Jianghuai Ecological Economic Zone is faced with challenges and opportunities. On the one hand, the economic development is imbalanced and insufficient, the growth is not sustainable, and people are not rich enough, which does not meet the requirements of high-quality ecological economic development in the new era; on the other hand, its levels of economic development, urban construction and population density are all lower than the provincial average level, which provides huge space for regional development. The construction of Jianghuai Ecological Economic Zone should adhere to the concept of harmonious coexistence between human and nature, and coordinate the systematic governance of "mountains, rivers, forests, farmland, lakes and grass". Governance system includes establishing and perfecting the economic system of green low-carbon circular development, building the green market-oriented technology innovation system, constructing clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy systems, and realizing the circulation link between production system and life system. We should also construct the environmental governance system with government taking the lead, enterprises as the main body, and social organizations and the public participating jointly, so as to build a peaceful, harmonious and beautiful ecological economic zone, and embark on a new journey of ecological civilization construction.
