At the end of 2017, the National Bureau of Statistics, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the Central Organization Department jointly issued the "Annual Evaluation Results Bulletin of the Ecological Civilization Construction in 2016", which for the first time published the Green Development Index and public satisfaction of each province and its ranking, causing great repercussions throughout the country and the world. Generally speaking, in this public ecological environment satisfaction survey, all aspects of the work have been done relatively well, and the final results are reliable and convincing. The evaluation process can be verified from data collection, review, and confirmation, and the whole process from calculation procedures to evaluation results can also be traced and explained. Therefore, the basic data of the Green Development Index is credible.The Green Development Index is a new thing and cannot be perfect. It is necessary to summarize and improve in time based on the problems exposed in the evaluation practice in 2016.
