In fact, 17 years after China's accession to the WTO, we have fulfilled all the commitments beyond the standards of developing countries. There is no reason to exclude China from developing countries. China is still a developing country and must adhere to the purpose of "keeping a low profile and making a difference". On the one hand, China should continue to promote its own economic development through expanding international trade; on the other hand, China should also be positioned to safeguard the multilateral trading system based on rules, and work with other WTO members to promote the Doha Round negotiations to move forward and make progress. In addition, China should shoulder the responsibility as an emerging big country and strive to reach workable and effective provisions on WTO's differential and special treatment rules, in order to earnestly safeguard the rights and interests of developing countries. With the development of economy, the time when China's international status changes can only base on official documents from Chinese government. The scope and extent of China's continued opening-up depend only on domestic policy space and practical needs of its own development, which are not subject to the will of any other country.
