General secretary Xi Jinping stressed at the Forum on the development of the Yangtze River economic belt that we must take account of the long-term interests of the Chinese nation and put the restoration of the Yangtze River Ecological Environment in an overwhelming position. We need to step up conservation of the Yangtze River, stop its over development, and make great efforts to build the Yangtze River economic belt into a golden economic belt with more beautiful ecology, more unhindered traffic, more coordinated economy, more unified market and more scientific mechanism. We should explore a new way of ecological priority and green development. The central economic work conference held in December 2018 pointed out that it is necessary to promote the development of the Yangtze River economic belt, implement the systematic protection and restoration of the Yangtze River ecological environment, and strive to promote its high-quality development.In order to further promote the development of the Yangtze River economic belt, we should make full use of its development advantages, such as resource concentration, population concentration, market concentration, industry concentration and city concentration. On the basis of infrastructure integration of cities along the Yangtze River, we should realize reasonable industrial competition and division of labor pattern. The scale economy and scope economy effect will make it a golden economic belt and become the new forces which lead the high-quality development of China's economy.
