This year’s No.1 central document on agriculture pointed out that we must ensure the supply of important agricultural products, take into account both domestic and international markets and resources, scientifically determine the security level of domestic major agricultural products, perfect the security system, and improve the domestic security capacity. China is a country with large population and great economy. The supply of agricultural products is very important for national food supply and industrial production with agricultural products as raw materials. Since the reform and opening up, the development of industrialization and urbanization has accelerated people’s consumption of land. At the same time, the improvement of people's living standards has increased the consumption of agricultural products. Therefore, the food demand cannot completely rely on domestic production based on the existing cultivated land area. It is an inevitable choice to coordinate the international and domestic agricultural products market and reasonably arrange the import and export of products. However, under the background of increasingly fierce international trade conflicts, agricultural trade has been influenced by more non-market factors. Therefore, it has become an important issue that we should emphasize the supply of major agricultural products based on domestic agriculture, improve our "domestic security capacity", and weigh the advantages and disadvantages of domestic agricultural production and international trade.
