The construction of modern economic system is an important decision and deployment made by the CPC Central Committee for the socialism with Chinese characteristics entering the new era. Only if the economic system is strong, our country can be powerful. Only through forming the modern economic system can we better comply with the development trend of modernization and win the initiative in international competitions, as well as provide strong support for the modernization in other fields.The strong and growing domestic demand of China can completely support us to build a modern economic system independently. Deeply integrating into the global economy, actively participating in the world economic competition, and building an open economy of high standards can in turn support the construction of modern economic system.A review of China’s history shows that opening up internally is insufficient, and it has affected the pace and level of opening up externally. In the final analysis, we are lack of domestic reform, and the reform lags behind the opening-up and our development. We should accelerate the process of further reform across the board, and focus on opening up internally, especially opening up to private enterprises and individuals.
