Referring to the higher-quality development goal, there are still some cumulative problems in the internal development of the Yangtze River Delta, especially in the quality of ecological environment and the security of living conditions. These problems have become the major constraints and short boards of the high-quality integrated development, so it is of great necessity to further strengthen the ecological and environmental protection work. The ecological environment of the Yangtze River Delta region is not only an important part of integrated development, but also a necessary guarantee for its higher-quality development.As for the exploration of practice of the integration of ecology and environmental protection in the Yangtze River Delta, we have implemented the promotion pattern of multi-agent cooperation led by the government, as well as multiple means of efforts driven by the market jointly pushing forward. Main difficulties we confront in the process of the integration lie in the following aspects. Firstly, the regional eco-environmental problems are still prominent. Secondly, it is still difficult to deal with the collaborative governance of multi-agent environmental events. Thirdly, we still have problems in coordinating the relationship between costs and benefits in the cross-region ecological governance. In order to resolve these difficulties, there are three strategies. The first is to strengthen the institutional construction of the integration of ecology and environmental protection inside the region. The second is to establish a joint control mechanism for ecological risk prevention. The third is to employ more market-oriented means to improve the level of ecological governance.
