The prevention and control of the COVID-19 is related to the general prospect of China's opening-up. As a large open province, Jiangsu plays an important role in China's foreign trade and global supply chain system. Currently, the prevention work in our province has achieved interim results, with foreign-funded enterprises and foreign trade enterprises beginning to resume work and production. However, the epidemic has spread to quite a few countries in the world, with the situation of imported cases being grim. The epidemic has had an interim impact on the development of Jiangsu's open economy. The suspension of production and poor logistics in the previous stage have resulted in tight capital chains, prolonged production cycles, and increased operating costs, making international trade contracts unable to fulfil normally, and production of foreign-funded enterprises unable to resume properly. This poses a severe challenge to the stability of foreign trade and foreign investment, and will also affect the confidence foreign-funded enterprises hold towards our province's business environment, weakening our status in the global supply chain system. The restrictions on the movement of natural persons have also greatly affected service trade such as international tourism and international transportation. Therefore, while preventing and controlling the COVID-19, the top priority is to comprehensively use a variety of policy measures to "ensure stability in foreign trade, foreign investment, and retain the supply chain" to guarantee a steady and healthy development of Jiangsu's open economy.
