Professor Hong Yinxing carried out relevant interpretations and discussions on the “Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Accelerating the Improvement of the Socialist Market Economic System in the New Era” on the key points, difficulties, goals and tasks in the process of advancing the socialist market economic system in the new era to promote China's economic reform and high-quality economic development. This article believes that fair and adequate competition is the essential feature of the market economy and the basis for formulating competition policies. The basic status of competition policy refers to the basic role in the country's economic regulation and control policy system, which is mainly reflected in the following four aspects: 1. The allocation of resources is based on competition; 2. The cultivation of market entities is based on competition; 3. The industrial organization policy is based on competition; 4. The construction of market order is based on standardizing the order of competition. Therefore, strengthening the basic position of competition policy also further proposes the direction of perfecting the market economy system. Strengthening competition policy is actually the construction of a market economy system. On the one hand, it needs a series of supporting systems, such as a fair competition review system; on the other hand, it plays a guiding role in the construction of the entire market economy.
