The road of self-study: In 1977, Professor Zhang graduated from university and became a teacher. Later, he accidentally read Sun Yefang's "Several Theoretical Issues on Socialist Economy" and became interested in the theory of socialist economics. Then, he began to prepare the postgraduate entrance examination and entered Nanjing University to study economics. Time changes: Professor Zhang graduated in 1984 and stayed as a teacher. After studying in Japan in 1988, Professor Zhang's research field turned to international economics and China's opening up. For more than 30 years, Mr. Zhang has focused on the two research fields of international trade theory and policy, and the theory and practice of China's open economy, striving for innovation and making his own efforts for opening up.Future prospects: Professor Zhang emphasized the importance of theoretical foundations, and pointed out that it is necessary to use research methods of modern economics and integrate reality to serve the promotion of reform and opening up. Professor Zhang believes that students do not need to be overly anxious about employment issues. They just study in school down-to-earth, and if they do well in their studies and research, their employment competitiveness will naturally increase.
