The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stated that China’s economy has shifted from a stage of rapid growth to a stage of high-quality development. The key to high-quality development lies in cultivating new kinetic energy and emancipating the mind.In terms of cultivating new kinetic energy, the new kinetic energy that China needs to cultivate is new industries, and strategic emerging industries must be developed. In terms of emancipating the mind, the principle of developing relying on scale and speed should be shifted to one emphasizing quality and efficiency.Ren Baoping of Northwest University has completed the book "Research on the High-quality Development of China's Economy in the New Era", comprehensively and systematically studying the high-quality development of the Chinese economy in the new era from the perspective of theory and practice. This book clearly defines the connotation of high-quality development, proposes six evaluation systems for high-quality development, and proposes that China should pursue high-quality development from three dimensions: macro, meso and micro.High-quality development is the need for China's economic development into the new era, and it is also the strategic direction for China's long-term economic development in the future.
