On July 21st, 2020, in a symposium which was aimed to talk with, encourage and listen to opinions and suggestions from entrepreneurs, General Secretary Xi Jinping mentioned the category of "market players" 16 times, affirming its important role.Market players are characterized by decision-making independence, status equality, profit orientation and behavior flexibility. They determine the efficiency of the market economy in allocating resources, serving as the basic guarantee for realizing high-quality development. Only by cultivating strong market players can we have a strong economy and national strength.Against the current complex background, the government needs to follow specific guidance to maintain and stimulate the vitality of market players: implement various policies beneficial to enterprises; create a market-oriented, legalized and international business environment; build a new type of cordial and clean relationship between government and business; and support the development of individual industrial and commercial households.The opening-up of market players promotes the formation of a large-scale domestic market, thereby conducive to shaping country's new "dual circulation" development pattern. Towards opening-up at home, we should not only give individuals and families the right to choose economic affairs arranged by government agencies, but also promote high-quality integrated regional development and build a unified national market.
