General Secretary Xi Jinping once emphasized at the symposium on solid promotion of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta that we should have a deep understanding of the status and role of the Yangtze River Delta in the country's economic and social development and constantly promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.There are some unique conditions that promote the formation of a new pattern of development in the Yangtze River Delta. First of all, since the reform and opening up, the Yangtze River Delta, as one of the pioneers in China's reform and opening up, has fully integrated into the international division of labor and seized the strategic opportunities brought by the global division of factors by relying on its superior geographical location, perfect infrastructure and cheap and high-quality labor force. Secondly, the Yangtze River Delta has many other advantages, such as rich talents, high-level science and technology, developed manufacturing industry, relatively complete industrial chain and supply chain, and great market potential.The development of the Yangtze River Delta is a result of opening up, and it will also push forward all- round opening up with greater intensity and at a higher level. To this end, first, we should open up at a higher level to promote the formation of a unified market in the Yangtze River Delta. Second, we should vigorously promote high-level opening-up, with institutional opening-up as the focus. Third, we should continue to open up and innovate, and strengthen international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation. Fourth, we should also promote the construction of open platforms and build a multi-platform system with efficient operation.
